It's never a Christmas Day dinner without a Cranberry Sauce. It's one of the first sauces that goes on the plate in our family
This recipe can be made well in advance so your Christmas Day cooking schedule becomes less hectic
In a large saucepan, add the sugar and freshly squeezed orange juice and bring to the boil, giving a stir until the sugar has dissolved
Add in the cranberries, orange zest and cinnamon and simmer until the cranberries are soft and tender but they still hold their shape, we don’t want mushy sauce
Remove from the heat and let cool at which point it’s ready to be popped into the fridge until needed. This sauce will last a good few days
Remove from the fridge a few hours before service so that the sauce can loosen a bit because it thickens when cold
